Sub Teachers Application Process

LICENSED SUBSTITUTES (TEACHERS)
Substitute Teacher applications must include the following:
  • Transcripts confirming BA degree or better or a letter of acceptance into the education program
  • Three letters of recommendation in regard to working with children/youth
  • Current Colorado Teaching License or Substitute Authorization information available on our Licensed substitute page
Once your application has been evaluated and approved, an appointment will be scheduled to complete necessary paperwork in the Human Resources Office. At that time you will receive information regarding our automated substitute calling system.

APPLICATION STEPS:

  • Complete a Pueblo City Schools' External Application online.
  • Present three letters of recommendation regarding working with children or youth.
  • Provide transcripts confirming Bachelor's degree or higher or proof of acceptance into the teacher education program of an accepted institution of higher education.
  • Current Colorado Teaching License or Substitute Authorization.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PERSONNEL (ESP):
Applicants for classified substitute positions must complete the district Classified Employee Application (internal). Following a complete application, Human Resources will schedule an appointment to complete necessary paperwork.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION UPON HIRING:
  • Social Security Card or Passport
  • Driver’s License/Photo Identification Card
  • Voided check or deposit slip for automatic deposit

At new hire processing you will be provided information regarding our automated substitute calling system as well as a Substitute Handbook .
